Legislative Update

Mike's Priorities

1. Work to build on positive gains in education byallowing individual schools to tailor remedial programs in math and reading instead of a state-mandated program. Attract and keep the most qualified teachers by offering incentives for performance and keeping our commitment to pay the incentives. Establish more mechanisms to remove unruly students from the classroom, for a more healthy learning environment.

2. Protect Georgia's business climate so that we can attract more industries, which brings more jobs.

3. Ensure that Gwinnett gets our fair share of transportation dollars to relieve traffic congestion. We can do this by eliminating the congressional balancing formula for federal transportation dollars.
